Catalina’s exceptional experience activating and developing communications for brands throughout Latin America and the United States made her an excellent choice to become Major League Baseball’s Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. A native of Colombia, fluent in Spanish and English, Catalina’s expertise includes global sports management, sales, marketing, and Hispanic/Latinx initiatives.

 

From orchestrating events for Red Bull’s Formula One team to working with a number of professional baseball players, including 14-time Major League Baseball All-Star and Hall of Famer Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez she remains at the forefront of community engagements connecting business to community.

 

A former athlete, Catalina arrived in the United States from Colombia to play tennis at Northwestern State University. Following her playing career, she coached tennis at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her Masters in Business Administration and Sports Management.

 

She has worked with clients such as Bank of America, Master Card, Papa John’s Pizza, Sun West Mortgage, PRONTO Insurance, AT&T Puerto Rico, Gatorade Puerto Rico, El Mayor Tequila, and ACME Brick.

Catalina spends her personal time with family, exploring nature and enjoying outdoor activities. She is committed to assisting underrepresented communities to promote to respect and opportunity.
